30 Kalibaru Residents Recruited to Become Volunteer Firefighters

The training was held by the North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat) in the Environmental Fire Safety System (SKKL) formation program.
Gulkarmat Sub-agency's Prevention Section Head, Eko Budianto said the Redkar formation is to create a system of citizen resilience in preventing and handling fires. So, when a fire occured, the team that is part of the SKKL moved quickly to conduct initial handling.

He explained participants were given training including material on fire prevention and handling. Then, practice fire prevention using wet towels or sacks and portable fire extinguisher (Apar).
"Hopefully, after attending this training, residents will know what to do when a fire occurs," he explained.
Besides in Kalibaru Urban Village, that his party had also formed a Redkar in RW 08, Cilincing Urban Village with a total of 30 people.
"It will be continued in other urban villages in North Jakarta," he added.
Kalibaru Urban Village Government Section Head, Suparman admitted he supported and appreciated its formation in his region.
Kalibaru is a densely populated area, so education on fire prevention and control from an early age is very necessary.
"Hopefully, the public will know how to handle fires effectively. So, it can minimize cases and victims due to fire," he stated.
